Assistive Transport Education Series - Melbourne
The Assistive Transport Education Series will provide therapists with technical knowledge and hands on experience for vehicle solution assessments. Mobility Engineering is collaborating with clinical educators from Permobil and ILS Rehab to bring you an immersive workshop.
We will explore the assessment process for vehicle solutions, going through each vehicle category of; Wheelchair access, Getting seated, Hoisting and Stowing, Seat positioning, Independent Driving. This will then flow into a session on mobility devices and how to match these with the type of vehicle transfer required. Finally, we will cover the various wheelchair supports and how these will integrate with the vehicle safety requirements.
This year we are evolving our education series to a more interactive and hands on experience for therapists. We will first go through the learnings during the presentations and then put to practice those learnings through practical exercises.
